SourceTrace (STS) is the leading independent provider of remote transaction solutions for financial service, agriculture, healthcare, micro-insurance and clean water providers and organizations operating in emerging markets. Its mission is to bring affordable transactional and switching technology to those outside of existing networks, primarily to the bottom of the pyramid end client such as the unbanked, uninsured and smallholder farmers in rural populations around the world.

Why we invested
SEDF believes that SourceTraces’s technology platform extends basic financial services to the poor and rural populations (for example, deposits, loans and other financial transaction processing) at lower costs than alternative methods, including brick-and-mortar branches. Lower-cost access permits STS customers to expand geographic reach and serve higher numbers of end users for lower fees.
