Siraj is a private equity fund dedicated to investing in promising start-ups, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and large companies across various economic sectors in Palestine, particularly those that display an untapped potential for growth and job creation. The target group includes distressed but viable companies struggling due to chronic political turmoil and the resultant sluggish growth that has hindered the Palestinian economy. The Fund may also invest in companies registered abroad that have significant operations in Palestine.

Why we invested
The Siraj Palestinian Fund presents a unique opportunity for SEDF to take a significant role in developing SMEs in Palestine, creating jobs and enhancing the overall political and economic stability in the West Bank. The Fund believes that SME development will trigger a virtuous cycle by creating a better investment climate which, in turn, will drive development and encourage investment from others and generate higher productivity. By providing access to growth and expansion capital, this Fund provides a platform to address all of these needs. And as the West Bank / Gaza continues in its transition from an occupied, conflict zone to a Nation State, private sector development will be a critical mainstay.
