The Esoko platform gives tens of thousands of producers and traders across nine African countries instant access to markets, offers, prices and more via their computers and mobile phones.

Why we invested
Esoko’s proprietary market information systems provided through the Esoko platform bring transparency to commercial transactions and enable small holder farmers to increase their incomes by negotiating better prices and improving the timing of their goods to market.   Esoko’s software allows different parties in the agricultural value chain to exchange real-time market information.  Farmers receive current demands, prices of crops, and the location of seeds and fertilizers directly on their mobile phones.  Businesses can track how their products are used and market themselves to new customers.  Associations and governments can share critical information with thousands using a simple bulk-text messaging feature.
